Learning to See
Photography started as a way to hold onto the places I traveled. I wanted to remember not just where I had been, but how it felt to be there. Before long, I realized I wasn't interested in recreating the postcard—I wanted to preserve my own perspective of it. Whether it was an unexpected composition or a detail most people walked past, those became the photographs I wanted to make. Today, taking those photographs is one of my favorite parts of traveling, and many of my favorite memories of a place begin with the moment I stopped to see it differently.
My Approach
What began as a habit of noticing — a light, an angle, a moment most people walk past — has become a body of work built one frame at a time. I don't plan a shot so much as recognize one. The selecting and refining comes later, back at the desk, where an image either holds up or it doesn't.
A signature, not a style
Many of my strongest pieces hold a single intimate detail against something vast — a flower in front of a skyline, raindrops on glass with a city blurred behind. The close and the distant, in the same frame.
Built for the room
A piece isn't finished until it fits the space it's going into — its light, its mood, its purpose.
